Take Me As I Am, Whoever I Am - Modern Love Review

My God.

What a beautiful episode.

I’ve been on the bathroom floor, crying and feeling alone.

I’ve gotten dressed up real nice even though I feel like crap.

I feel like I’m the lead in the movie of my life when I walk down the street and listen to my “soundtrack”.

The wind has changed swiftly from under my sails.

“I am impossible to be around.”

I see you Anne Hathaway. I feel you. You were me.

I’m so glad she spoke her truth. A real friend can make the difference.

This representation is so beautiful and honest. So many times media represents bipolar disorder as a joke, but, here, in Modern Love, Lexi was real. My condition was respected.

Written by John Carney and Terri Cheney

Directed by John Carney
